From Terrified to Transformed

My Journey to Natural Birth Confidence

How 4 completely different births taught me that empowerment isn't about perfection—it's about preparation and trust

The Beginning

MY FIRST PREGNANCY: A BUNDLE OF NERVES

When I found out I was pregnant with my first baby, I was equal parts excited and terrified. Every time someone shared their birth story, it seemed to be either:

1. A horror story that made me want to schedule a c-section immediately

2. A "magical, pain-free" experience that felt completely unrealistic I didn't know who to believe or what to expect. So I did what any Type-A, slightly anxious, first-time mom would do:

I researched EVERYTHING. I read every book, watched every video, and Googled every symptom at 2am.

But you know what? All that information just made me more anxious.

Because birth isn't something you can control with knowledge alone.

It's something you have to EXPERIENCE and TRUST.

The Transformation:

MY FOUR BIRTHS: THE REAL EDUCATION

Birth #1: Hospital Birth (14 hours)

The one that taught me I was stronger than I thought. Long, intense, and nothing like I expected—but I did it. And I felt like a warrior afterward.

Birth #2: C-Section (Planned)

The one that taught me flexibility. My baby was breech, and I had to let go of my "perfect" plan. This birth showed me that empowerment isn't about following a plan—it's about making informed decisions.

Birth #3: Home Birth (5 hours)

The one that taught me about trust. In my own space, surrounded by people who believed in me, I surrendered completely to the process.

Birth #4: Surprise Fast Labor (3 hours)

The one that taught me babies have their own plans! My midwife didn't even make it in time. My husband and I delivered our own baby, and it was perfect in its chaos.

The Mission:

WHY I CREATED PLANNING YOUR BIRTH

After my fourth baby, I realized something: Every pregnant mother I talked to was experiencing the same fears and confusion I had felt before my first birth.

They were:

• Overwhelmed by conflicting advice

• Scared of the pain and the unknown

• Unsure if they could "handle" natural birth

• Desperately seeking real, practical wisdom

I thought: What if I could save other mothers the months of anxiety I experienced? What if I could share what I learned through 4 different births so they could approach birth with confidence instead of fear?

That's why Planning Your Birth exists.

To give you the real preparation, practical tools, and genuine support you need to transform your birth experience from something you're dreading to something you're actually excited about.

Three Core Principles:

NATURAL DOESN'T MEAN UNPREPARED

MY PHILOSOPHY Preparation, Trust, and Empowerment

Natural birth isn't about "just winging it" or refusing all medical care. It's about preparing your mind, body, and birth team so thoroughly thatyou can trust the process even when it gets intense.

I believe in:

✓ Evidence-based birth education

✓ Natural pain management techniques

✓ Building a strong, supportive birth team

✓ Staying open to medical intervention when truly needed

YOUR BODY ALREADY KNOWS HOW

EMPOWERMENT OVER PERFECTION

Women have been giving birth for millennia. Your body has ancient wisdom about how to bring your baby earthside. My job isn't to teach your bodywhat to do—it's to help you trust what it already knows.

I believe in:

✓ Trusting your body's natural capabilities

✓ Following your instincts during labor

✓ Movement and positioning freedom

✓ Working with your body, not against it

An empowering birth isn't about everything going "perfectly." It's about feeling informed, supported, and confident in your decisions—whatever they may be. Some of my most empowering moments came from adapting when plans changed.

I believe in:

✓ Flexible birth preferences (not rigid plans)

✓ Informed decision-making

✓ Staying connected to your values

✓ Celebrating your unique birth story

FULL TRANSPARENCY:

I am not a midwife, doula, or medical professional. I'm a mother who has experienced natural birth four times and wants to share what I learned.

Everything I offer is educational and based on personal experience, not medical advice. I always encourage you to work with qualified healthcare providers for medical decisions.

What I offer is something doctors and midwives often can't: the real, personal, day-to-day wisdom that comes from living through pregnancy, birth, and early motherhood four times.

The Inspiration Behind It All

My four babies (not so baby anymore!) are the reason I do this work.

Each of their births taught me something profound about strength, flexibility, trust, and love.

My husband has been my rock through all four births—catching babies, holding me through contractions, and reminding me of my strength when I forgot. He's proof that partners can be incredible birth support with the right preparation!

Our family is living proof that natural birth isn't just possible—it can be a beautiful, empowering foundation for your journey into parenthood.
